I just heard this through the (very reliable) grapevine. At the annual Keels & Wheels show in Seabrook, Texas this year, there will be an auction item that might interest fans of vintage vehicles and early 80s movies. Plus, a well-known and respected author
A 1983 DeLorean (like the car in "Back to the Future") has been donated for the car auction. The local PBS station has been designated to receive the proceeds from the auction. I don't believe it's THE car from the movie, but it's not like there are that many left.
If you are in the area Saturday, May 1 and have money to spend on an "iconic feature in American film history and American pop culture," come on down to the Keels & Wheels event and bid on this car.

I realize this is still several months away, but I figured you might need to save up your cash for the auction or at least put it on your calendar. Frankly, I can't wait to get out there so I can see all the old cars. I wish I had the money to buy one of them. I'm not so fond of the boats, but plenty of others are, like JP. He'll likely hang out around all the cool boats when we go to the show.
